DataPro Version 4.1

Introduction

DataPro is a suite of software products designed to support Stack Data Logging Systems.

The suite comprises:

Application Description
Stack DataPro Data acquisition and analysis tool
DataPro Designer System configuration designer and programmer
RunManager An Explorer-style application for run data management
TeleMonitor Telemetry monitor for use with radio modems



System Requirements

The recommended system configuration for DataPro is provided in the table below:

Processor Pentium® III- class PC (500 MHz or higher recommended)
RAM 512 MB or greater
Hard Disk 1.1 gigabytes (SCSI drive preferable for video synchronisation)
Display Designed for XGA at 1024 x 768 resolution or higher
Operating System Microsoft Windows 2000 or Windows XP
Browser Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.01 or higher
Privileges Administrative Privileges on the system
Mouse Microsoft IntelliMouse or other compatible pointing device
USB Port USB1.0 or higher

Installation

IMPORTANT: The software products Stack DataPro and/or DataPro Designer must be installed before you plug the CAN USB Network Interface into your USB port for the first time!

  1. Insert the Stack DataPro CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive.
  2. If you have AutoRun enabled the Setup program should start automatically.
  3. If AutoRun has been disabled, use Windows Explorer to go to the root folder of the installation CD-ROM and run the Setup program.
  4. Follow the instructions in the installation wizard.
  5. Once installed, remove the CD-ROM from the drive.
  6. Plug the CAN USB Network Interface into an available USB port on your PC (Note: the jack plug does not need to be connected to your car at this time).
  7. Follow the instructions in the Found New Hardware wizard.

For more detailed information concerning both hardware and software installation please refer to the DataPro Manual which can be found on the root folder of the installation CD-ROM. Please note that you will need Adobe® Acrobat® Reader™ to view the manual, the installation program for which may be found in the Acrobat folder on the installation CD-ROM.

Enhancements

Description
Communication with Stack Data Logging systems now fully supported under Microsoft Windows 2000 and Microsoft XP.
New Recorder Status and Network Information dialogs provide more detailed information about the system.
DataPro Designer checks to see whether a recorder contains run data before it uploads a new configuration providing an opportunity to download the data with Stack DataPro before the data is overwritten.
Added support for synchronised video.

In some cases, run data could cause certain graphics adapter drivers to crash when displaying a layout containing a Strip Chart. 1064
